Sorry this is so long overdue! So much has been going on and one thing after the other kept me extremely busy this Winter Break. I think it is exciting being in this place that I am in: preparing for a wedding and doing my student teaching, all at once. While I am sure at some point it may get overwhelming, I also know that I have wonderful support and love from those that make life so much easier and worthwhile.
My Winter Break was spent in India: shopping, visiting family, and seeing Bapa! It was a wonderful trip and although I got a lot done, I appreciate every moment of it. I think it is amazing to see how one country can change so much over time. Going through India and seeing all that has changed after two years was shocking. You really grow to understand how a country so largely populated still works towards improving their lives and country day by day. Shopping of course was enjoyable, their fashion is so interesting and ever changing. I can't imagine how anyone there can keep up with it!
When I got back, I got sick and had a week to recover before starting my student teaching! I am lucky to be at Lovin Elementary School, in a wonderful third grade class. I have only been in there a week now and I am learning so much! My mentor teacher is extremely helpful and challenges me everyday. I am really blessed to be partnered up with her. My students are also wonderful! They have very unique personalities and I am learning so much from them. This experience is such a blessing as well--you never know what each day will bring and how that will shape your understanding as a teacher. But more so, I am learning how the classroom is exactly where I need to be. There is nowhere else I would rather be. I never thought I would enjoy third grade, especially because my heart lies with the younger grades, but these students have definitely won a place in my heart in this short time.
I know this post isn't very long, but I thought I would share what all is going on in my life!
