I was finishing up Undergrad at UGA, when one day while watching TV, I stumbled upon this commercial. I usually don't watch commercials to be honest, they usually are repetitive and keep me away from what I really want to be watching. But this one caught my eye. Enough for it to inspire me, my personal statement that I was getting nowhere with, and my future. I never thought Barbie, of all things, would inspire me. As a child, my sister and I spent more time giving our Victoria Spice doll a makeover. We usually cut their hair, lost their shoes, and anything else you could think of. But the message in this video is not to be overlooked, but rather imbibed.
What captured me the most was: "Dreams are really what makes us alive. Dream Big! Really fall in love with the highest image of yourself... I want to be something that no one has ever experienced. When I grow up, when I grow up, when I grow up...I can be anything, and that's everything" –Barbie
Think about what you are doing right now. Is it really where you want to be? I am finally living my dreams, understanding where I am supposed to be and doing what I feel God has intended for me to do. It is the best feeling in the world. The feeling of having a purpose and living up to that purpose. The message is simple, but this video is powerful. You'll watch it once, maybe twice. But the message will always stick with you.
